Navigating the On-line Dating World
When you're a glib talker like me, it could either help you, or it could spell disaster.
Texting/messaging is like a sport. Outsmarting each other's jibes, being funny, ignoring lewd remarks, getting past insults... all fun game to me. I just pepper everything with smileys to make things stay on banter level.
It's all fine until the point when the other person wants to move forward and meet. Or I want to move forward and the other doesn't. When that point comes, I either drop the whole conversation or push further, depending on how cute the prospect is.
There would be those just seeking for a thrill... like a mistress or two. Beware of those with "complicated relationships" because those are the ones who do not want to "de-complicate" their relationships. They revel in those situations.
Is it a place where you can find love? Of course it could be. You'll just have to extricate the weed from the seed. Just be ready for a long dreary process. It makes it even more difficult when you are flooded with messages and you can't remember anymore which one said what, as you tend to collect similar looking people - which is of course based on your type. Then there's trying to remember what you've said so far.
Remembering the exchanges could be a challenge! You run the risk of repeating yourself or asking or answering the same questions over and over again.
